About the Role
The PGT - English will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language and literature instruction to Grade 10 students, ensuring alignment with the Cambridge curriculum. The role requires a focus on student outcomes, including language proficiency and critical thinking skills. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver comprehensive English lessons to Grade 10 students, adhering to the Cambridge curriculum standards. - Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback. - Develop and implement strategies to enhance students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. - Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the development of the English department.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development sessions as required. - Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information. Required Qualifications: - Master's degree in English or a related field. - Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification. - Proficiency in the Cambridge curriculum and assessment standards. Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with digital teaching tools and platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience Requirements: Open to candidates with varying levels of experience, though prior experience teaching English at the secondary level is advantageous. Employment Details: This is a full-time position based at The Westminster Academy International School.
