About the Role
The Secondary Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education to Grade 9 and 10 students, ensuring alignment with the Cambridge curriculum. The role requires the teacher to create an engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking and scientific inquiry. Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver engaging science lessons for Grade 10, aligned with the ICESE curriculum standards. - Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback. - Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and abilities. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance. - Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and participate in departmental meetings. - Organize and supervise laboratory experiments, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with educational best practices and curriculum changes. - Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field. - B. Ed or equivalent teaching qualification. - Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum. - Additional certifications in education or science-related fields.
Experience Requirements: Open to candidates with varying levels of experience, though prior teaching experience in a similar setting is advantageous. Employment Details: Full-time position with standard school working hours. Participation in school events and meetings outside regular hours may be required.
